The Silva Project

FSC affiliate Blackburn Architects has been retained to provide a master plan and concept design for a new equestrian facility on the Island of Corfu in Greece for The Silva Project, a therapeutic riding center for children and adults with physical and mental disabilities. The center will establish a breeding program for the Skyrian pony, a rare and ancient breed of horse found only in Greece. The firm will team with local Greek architect, Arseni Ringas of Corfu. The program includes a covered arena, public observation area, four five-stall barns, tack rooms, café, offices, amphitheater, community center with meeting rooms, dining facility and a pool. In addition, there will be a residential community with 25 two-bedroom bungalows.
