Gallatin Valley Conservation Property

Properly functioning water features provide striking aesthetics, self-sustaining ecological systems, and superior aquatic and terrestrial habitat. The water resources on this site in southwestern Montana serve as the focal point of the property.  Six existing wetland areas identified on the project site were restored and enhanced for a total of 17 acres. This wetland creation and enhancement project provided productive fish, waterfowl and wildlife habitat and improve the current freshwater emergent wetland ecosystem.The desired condition of a biologically diverse, wetland complex was achieved through careful planning and design.

THI’s design and installation addressed and improved the inflow and outflow systems of the wetlands, to achieve clear, clean water with adequate dissolved oxygen, well-vegetated, stable banks and abundant in-pond cover. Deliverables for wetland enhancement and/or creation included: Enhanced aesthetics and property value; Properly functioning wetland system; Expanded recreational opportunities; Enhanced biodiversity; Improvement of the native plant community; and Improved recreational opportunities.  Assessment, feasibility, and installation performed by THI’s team of highly qualified professionals were developed to reduce impacts and improve the function of the system.
