Sept. 28, 2011 -- Seeking Regional Representatives

Field Sport Concepts is seeking energetic and qualified representatives focused on business development to cultivate leads and develop new client relationships in regional markets.  Our expectation is that representatives will help FSC to enter new markets by providing introductions to prospective clients and identifying new business opportunities.  Successful candidates should have a background in real estate, land management, or marketing with strong experience in conservation.

May 12, 2010 -- The British American Sporting Club

Meeting John Higgins for the first time, one is struck by his welcoming smile and ability to make everyone feel the enthusiasm that he has for his sport.  John is not only an experienced and skilled shooting instructor but also an accomplished designer and builder of sporting venues in the U. S. and abroad.Now he has joined with his partner Rhonda Young to create his latest endeavor bringing together a wide range of field sport activities to appeal to all levels, ages and interests of outdoor enthusiasts.  To John's professional experience, Rhonda brings her expertise in recreation and environmental education.  The British (John is from England) American Sporting Club is located in Taliaferro, Georgia midway between Athens and Augusta.  A grand opening is planned for June 5, 2010. As an affiliate of Field Sport Concepts, John has collaborated on various projects, notably The Fork in Norwood, North Carolina and Terra Chula in Valdosta, Georgia.

 

April 16, 2010 -- Panorama International,Inc., a Field Sport Concepts' affiliate, was among the sponsors of the 2010 CATHIE Conference.  Meeting in El Salvador, April 13th through 15th, The Central Americal Tourism & Hotel Investment Exchange, supported by FIAS of The World Bank [Foreign Investment Advisory Service] conducted a full set of programs that ran along side an active networking/exhibit hall.  Salons met to discuss several topics, among which were "The Outlook for Central America with the 'Great Recession' Coming to an End, Where Are We Headed?"  and "Central American Regional Integration--The Status, The Challenges and The Opportunities."  Read more about this informative, energy filled conference here.

 

April 16, 2010 -- Sagamore Farm, restoration design by Field Sport Concepts' affiliates Blackburn Architects and McKee Carson, is featured in a new book published by Rizzoli.  Stables: Beautiful Paddocks, Horse Barns, and Tack Rooms by Kathryn Masson with photography by Paul Rocheleau shows the farm both on a few inside pages as well as on the back cover.  Amazon.com is an easy way to acquire the book here.

 

April 16, 2010 -- Bob McKee, founding principal of McKee Carson and Field Sport Concepts, attended Environment Virginia's 2010 symposium held at Virginia Military Institute, April 6th through 8th:  Optimizing Stewardship in a Challenging Economy.    Over 600 participants chose to attend presentations and panel discussions focusing on ecosystems services/conservation finance, as well as several separate tracks of conference topics:

  • Regulatory Updates:  Air, Water, Stormwater, and Waste Management
  • Restoring the Chesapeake Bay
  • Strategic Land Conservation
  • Energy Development
  • Viable and Sustainable Farms
