Situated on a 35 acre rolling site just northwest of the town of Potomac and originally subdivided into 12 lots, the property was bought by the clients with the intent of creating a small scale equestrian compound so that the family could keep their horses on site and enjoy riding the numerous bridle trails found in the adjacent Watts Branch Park. FieldSport Concepts affiliates, Mckee Carson and Blackburn Architects, collaborated to develop a concept which integrated two new service buildings with an existing barn as well as designed and located a 240’ x 120’ outdoor arena, a future 200’ x 120’ indoor arena, a new service yard and connection to nearby trails.
Responsibilities included site analysis, master planning, conceptual presentations, cost estimation and preliminary plat preparation. Other professional services included preparing Phase I construction documents for the service yard and outdoor arena.
